Travelling to Harlech
Although Harlech could be considered remote, this is a huge part of it’s charm, you can travel to Harlech by Cycle, Bus, Car, Train, on Foot or even private plane landing at Llanbedr Airfield approximately 3 miles away.
It is situated on the West Coast of Wales, a Principality on the western fringes of Europe.
Reach here by Road via A496 and B4573 to Upper Harlech. A496 joins the A470 at Maentwrog to the North and Dolgellau to the South.
By Bike on Sustrans Route 8, or by walking the Wales Coastal Path.
If you are towing a Caravan you are advised to avoid the B4573 (on both approaches) due to tight bends and steep hills, also Twtil is very steep.
If you are using SatNav the Postcode for Upper Harlech is LL46 2YA (High Street) and for Lower Harlech LL46 2UG (Beach Road).
Once you are here; you’ll find that Harlech is easy to get around with the Castle right in the centre in a very prominent position.
There are Shops for groceries, sweets, antiques, ice creams, gifts, Restaurants, Cafes, Tea Rooms, Post Office (within Spar), Pharmacy etc.
On the right you see a map of the town with various places of interest.
In the space below is another map showing more of the local area.
